Wood profiles are made of softwood.
Advantages: they bring comfort, have excellent heat and noise isolation, do not cause condensation.
Potential problems:
- Change in structure (deformation, slack, displacement) - due to wrong
preparation of the joinery contents. When the wood is raw, heterogeneous or low quality glues are used,
it flings
aside and slacks.
- Decay and appearance of fungus and insects
- it is related to the superficial treatment
of the wooden profile.
- The wood harder to be maintained than
the plastic and the aluminium.
- From an environmental point of view the wood is an
exhausted source.
PVC profiles
PVC is a synthetic
material which comes from oil product.
Advantages:
- Resistant to atmospheric pressures;
- Have very good heat isolation properties
- 1,3-1,9 W/m2К;
- Do not make condensation;
- Easy for maintenance;
- Unrestricted number of colours;
- Excellent environmental friendly
material;
It is important to know
that:
- The thickness of the external wall of the profile must be at least
3 mm ±0,2.
- The produced under the standard profile has engraved labeling which has the producer's label, label
for production control,
registration No.,
production date and hour etc.
- Reinforced profile which is placed inside the PVC profile must be from zinc coated cold
rolled steel. The minimum thickness of the reinforcement should be 1,5
mm.
Aluminium
profiles:
Advantages:
- Combined with glass they give modern and
elegant appearance of the building;
- Resistant to atmospheric influences;
- Lack of deformations;
- Easy for maintenance;
- They have unrestricted range of colours as well as wide range of profiles which allow brave architectural decisions without additional profiles reinforcement;
- Environmental friendly material.
Disadvantages:
- The only problem is that it is a good conductor
(its heat conductivity is
1000 times higher than that of wood and PVC)
and leads to condensation and mould.
In order to be neutralized this thermal bridge,
it is interrupted by chambers,
filled in with polyamide or polyetherimide.
Coefficient of heat transition of aluminium profiles is between 2,4
- 3,1 W/m2К
Combination
of wood with aluminium - the resistance of aluminium to external atmospheric
conditions is combined with the excellent isolation characteristics of wood
and the comfort it brings.
